Budget Course

This is a six hour course for everyone in the church. It teaches biblical principles related to money and provides basic budget tools. It is the foundational course in the Good $ense ministry and comes in several formats.

Following are the various ways you can order the Budget Course:

Basic Components
The Budget Course has four basic components and is one of three primary sections in the Ministry kit, which is designed to provide everything a church needs to start a year-round stewardship ministry.

Expanded Edition
For churches that wish to start the Good $ense ministry by first just offering the Budget Course.

Small Group Edition
The Budget Course teaching is on a DVD along with discussion questions for easy use by small groups.

Course Overview   
The Good $ense Budget Course helps participants discover tools and develop skills that enable them to control their finances, rather than allowing their finances to control them. Participants get practical help and guidance to:

  • Remove money as a barrier to spiritual growth
  • Prioritize financial goals
  • Identify action steps to reduce expenses
  • Reduce debt
  • Develop a personalized spending plan

More than just a learning experience about budgets and finances, the course enables participants to reflect on their relationship to money and how it impacts their relationship to God. 

No matter what their circumstances — financial crisis or abundance — Good $ense can be helpful to everyone in the church.

The result is a congregation whose finances — and lives — are characterized by grace, joy, and freedom.

Budget Course Goal   
The goal of the Budget Course is for participant’s to leave with:

  • A Spending Plan (budget) in their hand
  • The knowledge in their head to implement it
  • The motivation in their heart to follow through
